After choosing your Event Ticket design, the next step will be to edit the fields currently shown on the pass, and add some of your own.

This article will cover the following,

The visual layout and organization of the pass.

Secure Field:

Custom Data Field:

A field that allows you to input specific data for each pass or for all passes.

Field Key:

A unique identifier for a custom data field.

Label:

Default Value:

A pre-set value for a custom data field.

Editing and deleting current fields

Editing Fields

To edit a field from your design, click on the field to open the field settings. Make your changes and click on Save.

Any changes made to a field will apply to the field on both Google and Apple designs.

Note: Any changes you make will immediately be sent to any passes issued from that tier when you click Save. Please double check before 'Saving'.

Deleting Fields

To delete a field from your design, first click on the field to open the field settings. Depending which design you are looking at you will have the option to remove the field from the Apple or Google design.

You will need to remove the field from both designs independently.

Moving fields on the Event Ticket design

Moving fields on the design is easy, simply drag and drop the field to the desired location, click Save when done.

Tip: The design is governed by the Apple Wallet and Google Wallet specifications, so field have set positions in the design. The rule of thumb is that if you can't do it in the designer, then it's not possible.

Adding new fields, including custom fields

There are 3 different types of fields you can add to your design.

Secure Fields - Secure fields (PII) store personal information about the pass holder. PassKit encrypts this data at rest and in transit.

Custom Data Fields -

  • Fields where the data remains the same across all passes

  • Fields where the data can be different for each pass

More information regarding Custom Fields here

For help adding links to you design, please see here

Adding a secure field

Click on the plus sign where you want to add the field, click on secure fields and choose the field to add, in this example I am adding the DOB field.

Note: Don't forget to add the fields to both the Google and Apple design

Adding a Custom Data Field where the data remains the same across all passes

Click on the plus sign where you want to add the field, click on New Data Field and click 'Add'

Select "This value is the same for each member.", then:

  • Change the field name to something appropriate, this will also determine the Field Key for this field.

  • Change the label of the field to what you want, I'm using "Support"

  • Set the default value.

Now we need to add the field to the other design.

Click to edit the Apple or Google design (this depends where you added the field first).

Click on the plus sign where you want to add the field, click on Custom Data, choose the field to add (in this example I will choose Support) and click Add.

Click Save to save your changes.

Adding a Custom Data Field where the data can be different for each pass

Click on the plus sign where you want to add the field, click on New Data Field and click 'Add'

Select "This value is different for each member.", then:

  • Change the field name to something appropriate, this will also determine the Field Key for this field.

  • Change the label of the field to what you want, I'm using "Special Requirements"

Note: No need to set a default value as these values are provided when the pass is issued.

Click "Done" when finished.

Now we need to add the field to the other design.

Click to edit the Apple or Google design (this depends where you added the field first).

Click on the plus sign where you want to add the field, click on Custom Data, choose the field to add (in this example I will choose Member No) and click "Done".

Don't forget to click "Save" when done.
