Our PassKit Referral Program is designed to create mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals and companies who can introduce new clients to our platform. This article explains how our referral program works and clarifies why we operate on a referral model, not a reseller model.


How the PassKit Referral Program Works

Our referral program empowers you to be an effective advocate for PassKit. You play a crucial role in bringing qualified leads to us by actively engaging with prospects.

Here’s what your role involves:

  • Identify and Educate: You find businesses that could benefit from PassKit. This often includes demonstrating the product's capabilities, answering their initial questions, and effectively communicating its value proposition.

  • Qualify and Drive Sign-ups: Based on your interactions, you help qualify the lead, ensuring they're a good fit for PassKit. Your goal is then to direct them to https://app.passkit.com/signup to sign up for their own PassKit account.

  • Earn Commission: For every referred client who signs up and becomes a paying PassKit subscriber, you earn a recurring commission on their base subscription fees.

What PassKit Handles:

Once your referred client has signed up, our team takes over the core sales and support process, including:

  • Deeper product dives and advanced demonstrations (if needed)

  • Finalizing the sale and subscription

  • Customer onboarding

  • Direct customer support

  • Billing and account management

  • Ongoing product development and updates


Why a Referral Model, Not a Reseller Model?

We've carefully chosen the referral model because it aligns best with how Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms like PassKit operate and ensures the best experience for our customers and partners. We do not offer a reseller program, where partners would purchase licenses at a discount and then re-sell them at a markup.

Here’s why the referral model is essential for PassKit:

1. PassKit is a Cloud-Based SaaS, Not Licensed Software

No Licenses or On-Premise Installations: PassKit is a purely cloud-based solution. We don't sell traditional software "licenses," nor do we offer any 'on-premise' installation options. Customers subscribe to our service and access it entirely via the internet. A reseller model, which typically involves buying and reselling distinct software licenses, is incompatible with our subscription-based, cloud-native architecture.

2. Direct Customer Relationship is Paramount

Continuous Improvement: As a SaaS provider, our direct relationship with the end-user is critical. It allows us to gather invaluable feedback, understand usage patterns, and identify new feature needs. This direct insight is crucial for our continuous product development and ensures PassKit evolves to meet market demands. A reseller model would place a layer between us and the customer, hindering this vital feedback loop.

3. Scalability of Specialized Support

Expert Assistance: Providing high-quality technical support for a complex SaaS platform requires specialized knowledge and dedicated resources. If partners were reselling, we'd either need to train them to our support standards (a massive undertaking) or risk inconsistent and fragmented customer experiences. Our referral model ensures all PassKit users receive consistent, expert support directly from our team.

4. Simplified Billing and Subscription Management

Streamlined Operations: SaaS relies on recurring subscriptions, often with tiered pricing and usage-based components. Managing this billing complexity through multiple reseller layers introduces significant administrative overhead and potential for errors. Our direct billing ensures accuracy and efficiency for all subscribers.

5. Consistent Product Evolution and Updates

Always Up-to-Date: PassKit is constantly evolving with new features, bug fixes, and security updates. With a direct relationship, we ensure all customers are always on the latest version, benefiting from immediate improvements. A reseller model could lead to customers being on outdated versions, causing user experience issues and support challenges.

6. Brand Integrity and Messaging Control

Unified Voice: We invest heavily in our brand, messaging, and product positioning. The referral model allows us to maintain control over how PassKit is presented in the market, ensuring consistent and accurate information reaches potential customers.


Commission Structure

As a PassKit Referrer, your commission will be calculated at 25% of the base subscription fees (Platform Fee + Pass Volume) for every qualified client you refer who becomes a paying subscriber. This recurring commission will be paid for the first 12 months of their active subscription.

This generous commission reflects the value of your efforts in identifying, educating, and driving sign-ups for PassKit, and we encourage you to leverage your market presence and networks to maximize your earning potential.


Resources and Training for Referrers

We aim to support our referral partners as effectively as possible:

Product Training

Our comprehensive product training and documentation are readily available on help.passkit.com. This is your go-to resource for all functional aspects of the PassKit platform. Of course, we highly encourage you to 'use' the software yourself so you can fully understand the capabilities you'll be discussing with your prospects.

Marketing & Sales Collateral

Please note that we currently do not provide specific marketing or sales collateral designed for partners to use directly with prospects (e.g., brochures, pitch decks, case studies). Our focus is on core product development and direct sales enablement.

Referral Tracking

We currently do not offer a dedicated partner portal for referral tracking. However, we maintain an internal Google Sheet to track referrals once a qualified email is received and the client signs up. We will provide you with a view-only version of this Google Sheet so you can monitor the status of your referred accounts and track your commission earnings.

Referral Strategy & Sales Enablement

At this stage, we have limited dedicated resources or prescriptive training on how to best sell or refer clients to PassKit. This is a deliberate aspect of our current program model. We see this as an opportunity for entrepreneurial partners like you to explore and innovate in identifying the most effective ways to introduce PassKit to your specific target markets. The high commission rate is designed to compensate for your investment in developing these strategies and building your own sales narrative around PassKit.


Additional Revenue Opportunity: Integration Services

Even beyond the referral commission, if your company possesses development or technical integration capabilities, there's a significant opportunity for you to offer integration services to clients (including those you refer).

Businesses often want to integrate PassKit within their existing operations or connect it to their CRM, POS, or loyalty systems. You can propose and charge for these professional services directly. This allows you to provide a more comprehensive solution tailored to your clients' specific needs and represents an independent revenue stream for your business. This is an opportunity you can pursue even if you decide not to participate in the PassKit Referral Program.
