PassKit now has the ability to not only send, but schedule messages to be sent to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes. This article will show you how to send a message immediately.
Terminology
Message Title
The main heading or subject line of a push message sent to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet pass holders.
Message Body
The main text content and details of the message delivered to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet pass holders.
Add the Messages Field to your Google Wallet design
In order for messages and notifications to show on your Google Wallet pass, the Messages Field needs to be added to the pass design.
Note: This is only required for Google Wallet passes
Navigate to the designer and select the Google Wallet. Then click the + icon on the design to add a field.
Locate the Messages Field in the Recommended Fields section and add it to the design.
Navigate to the Messages section
From the Projects list, open your project and click on "Messaging" in the left menu.
Sending a Message Immediately
Click on New Message at the top right of the screen.
Complete the Title and Message Body
Add the message title, and the message body in the fields provided.
Create the Message
Click on Create Message at the bottom of the page.
Your message can take up to 10 minutes to send from our system
When done your message will appear in the Messages list. It will be marked as scheduled initially.
