Apple and Google Wallet gives your customers a convenient way to organize and use rewards cards, boarding passes, tickets, gift cards, and more in one place. And by using PassKit you can provide relevant information the moment your customers need it.

Apple Wallet is natively installed and available on iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple Watch. Google Wallet is available on the Google Play store and can be installed on all Android Phone and Wear devices (Lollipop 5.0+).

These Wallet apps allows users to easily manage payment cards, boarding passes, tickets, gift cards, and other passes. Apple Wallet is time and location enabled, so passes can be configured to display on the user's device at the appropriate moment; like when the user reaches the airport or walks into a store. Passes can also be updated with push notifications so, if details change, you can notify the user and they can simply tap the notification to view the updated pass.

Note: these example pass have no value other than demonstrating how PassKit passes can be used by businesses. When you design your card for your business you can collect whatever information you want, and display whatever information you want on the pass. You can even use your own enrollment forms if you have them already.

Store loyalty cards, discount cards and points cards. If an account related to a loyalty card carries a points balance, and/or a tier, the pass can be updated to display the current balance and/or tier.

Gym membership, identity cards, and other types of membership cards. Each pass usually contains a profile image of the member and is used multiple times to check in, earn points, redeem points, check-out etc.

Coupons, special offers, and other discounts. If an offer has expired, the coupon can be updated with a new offer and expiration date.

Gift cards are a form of prepaid debit cards loaded with funds for future use. When a purchase is made using a gift card the pass can be updated to display the current balance.

Train tickets, airline boarding passes, and other types of transit passes. Each pass usually corresponds to a single trip with a specific starting and ending point.

Entry into concerts, movies, plays, sporting events, or other events. Typically, each pass corresponds to a specific event, but you can also use a single pass for several events as with a season ticket.

Your customers can add passes to their Wallet and have them appear on their lock screen based ion time and location when the pass is relevant. You can also use PassKit to update a pass's content using push notifications.
