This article will show you how to automatically issue coupons when a row is added to a Google Sheets spreadsheet.
Pre-requisites
A PassKit account with a coupon campaign and offer set up.
A Google Sheets spreadsheet containing at least one row of coupon data (See example below)
Step 1 - Create a new scenario
Step 2 - Click on the plus sign and search to find Google Sheets.
Step 3 - Choose the trigger action.
If prompted enter your Google log in details to connect your account.
In this scenario we want to check for any new rows in the Google Sheets spreadsheet - Select 'Watch New Rows'.
Step 4 - Select the spreadsheet name and sheet
Select the spreadsheet name and sheet which will be used to hold the coupon details.
This is the example Google Sheets spreadsheet I am using.
Adjust the other settings as appropriate;
Table Contains Headers - you will need to use column headers for the automation to work, so this should always be set to "yes".
Rows With Headers - This can be left with the current settings.
Limit - Set this to the number of records you want processed each time the scenario is run, default is 2
When done, click ok.
Step 5 - Set Up The Action.
Click on the plus sign to add another module. When prompted search and select "PassKit".
Step 6 - Select the Action "Create a Coupon".
If prompted enter your PassKit log in details to connect your account.
Step 7 - Choose the Coupon campaign and offer you wish to use, and map the fields.
Mapping the fields tells Make which columns in the spreadsheet go with which fields on the Coupon design. Click ok when finished.
Step 8 - Test the connection works, click "Run Once"
If the test was successful you will also see the coupon shown in the couponlist in the PassKit Portal
Step 9 - Activate your scenario
Click the clock and tell Make how often you want your scenario to run. When done, use the toggle at the bottom left of the screen to activate the scenario.
That's the setup complete.
