This article will show you how to choose the correct pass design for your digital coupon.
Terminology
Pass Design:
The common theme design for for the coupon.
Digital Coupon:
A virtual representation of a traditional coupon or voucher, often used to offer discounts or benefits to the holder.
Coupon Pass Type:
A specific type of digital pass used to represent coupons in campaign.
Basic Coupon:
A starting point for creating a digital pass from scratch.
Campaign Name:
The name of the project/program set by you.
Project:
A project refers to the either a Program (Membership/Loyalty), Campaign (Coupons) or Production (Event Tickets).
Project Overview:
The project overview provides a summary of your digital pass project in PassKit. This is the first page you see when clicking into the project.
What Kind of Pass Would You Like to Create?
Choose the pass type
From the project overview click on the "Create New" button.
Now shown is a selection of pre-designed options for you to choose from. We will be creating a Coupon.
In this case I want to create a coupon from scratch and not use a pre-defined template so I'm going to choose the Basic Coupon option.
Name the Campaign
The next step is to rename the Campaign to something more relatable to you.
Test
You can issue yourself a coupon to install into your Apple or Google Wallet and follow the progress of your coupon, and see how each change affects the card in your wallet.
Issue a Coupon
Navigate to the Coupons list and click on "Add"
Add the details to the form and click "Add" when done.
Add your test pass to your Wallet
When looking at the coupon list identify your test coupon, scroll right and click on "Other Actions"
Click on "Pass URL"
Scan the QR code or use the Add to Wallet buttons to add the test pass to your wallet.
View the test pass in your wallet
