Google Wallet is introducing a refreshed pass design with an updated layout and new image requirements. This guide explains how to update your pass in PassKit so it is ready for the new design.
The designer featuring the new Google Wallet Pass designer is currently only available in the Preview Portal. The Preview Portal is in beta, and may not work as expected.
How is the pass design changing?
Google Wallet is moving away from the current card-style design and introducing a full-screen, vertically scrolling layout.
Instead of placing all the pass content inside a rounded card, Google Wallet will display the pass as a series of sections. These sections can include the logo, pass name, barcode, fields, images, links, and other actions.

The new design will be gradually rolled out by Google over the next few months, so any changes made here may not immediately show on the pass.
First, log in to the Preview Portal and navigate to the tier/design you wish to edit, and enter the pass designer.
Navigate to the Google Wallet Designer
Use the button above the designer to switch to the Google Design, and select "New Design".
Add the New Sized Hero Image
Google now allows a larger image on the pass below the barcode and data fields. the image size should be 1032 × 812 px
Click on the image placeholder to add the image.
Adjust the Background Colour
You can adjust the background colour to better match the image if required.
Note - Changing the background colour on the Google Design, will also change the colour on the Apple Design
Edit field positions
If required, you can edit or add fields. There are two types of fields,
Data Fields - These are above hero image and are best suited for smaller values
Text Modules - These are below the hero image and are best suited from longer text (like terms and conditions) or links.
