You may want to send a message only to certain members within your program, or certain offers within your campaign. The Messages feature allows you to do this.
Terminology
Message Title
The main header or line of text displayed at the top of a message sent to pass holders.
Message Body
The detailed text content contained within the notification or message delivered to pass holders.
Segment
A defined subgroup of users or pass holders, filtered by specific criteria such as tiers or offers, targeted to receive a specific message.
Quick Filter
A simplified, preset filter tool used to quickly isolate specific pass categories, such as membership tiers, without manually building complex criteria.
Filter List
A customizable set of filter options used to refine and define specific recipient criteria when creating a segment.
Before proceeding, ensure that the Messages Field has been added to your Google Wallet design.
Create the Message
Click on New Message and complete the title and body.
Create the Segment
Use the filters to create a segment of users to send receive the message.
In my example I am going to send the message to passes in the Gold tier. We have provided a "quick filter" to make this easier for tiers, but this can also be done via the filter list.
Check and Send your Message
When the filter has been applied, the number of passes in the segment will be shown. If this is correct, click Create Message to send immediately.
