Using the PassKit Status Page

The PassKit Status Page is your go-to resource for monitoring the health of PassKit services, including the dashboard and APIs. It provides real-time updates, historical performance data, and insights into past incidents to help ensure your services run smoothly.


Terminology

Status Page

A web page used to display the current operational status of various services offered by PassKit.

Overall Status Banner

A visual indicator at the top of the status page that shows the general health of all PassKit services.

Uptime

A metric that measures the time a service or system has been up and running without any downtime.

Response Times

Metrics that indicate how quickly a service responds to requests. This can include average, maximum, and minimum response times, important for assessing service performance.

Status Indicator

Icons or labels next to each service on the status page that describe its current operating condition.

Status Updates

A section on the status page where recent problems or interruptions are documented, including details about affected services, descriptions of the incidents, and timestamps.

Maintenance Notices

Announcements regarding scheduled updates or maintenance that may impact service availability.

Getting to know the Status Page

Overall Status Overview

  • Banner at the Top: Displays the current overall status of PassKit services, such as "All Systems Operational" or alerts about active incidents.

  • Color Indicators:

    • Green: All systems are operational

    • Yellow/Orange: Degraded performance or partial outage

    • Red: Major outages affecting services

Service Status Breakdown

  • List of Services: Individual services are listed with their current status

  • Category Grouping: Services are listed alphabetically using the format shown below to keep them grouped together

    Server - Program Type - Call being Tested

    e.g. Pub1 Membership/Loyalty - Get Program

    Any services that don't have a server are used by both servers

There are separate pages for Pub 1 (Europe Server) or Pub 2 (US Server) if you didn't want to view all the calls we monitor

  • Status Indicators:

    • Operational: Service is running smoothly

    • Degraded Performance: Slower or limited functionality

    • Partial Outage: Some features of the service are not working

    • Major Outage: Service is entirely down

Historical Uptime

  • Overall Uptime: Displays the historical uptime performance for all services for the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 day and 90 days

Incident Reporting

  • Status Updates: A section displaying any active, resolved, or past incidents with details, found down the bottom of the webpage

    • Incident Details: Includes timestamps, affected services, descriptions, and updates

    • Timeline: Progress updates on the resolution of incidents.

  • Maintenance Notices: Scheduled maintenance events with expected downtime or impact

Subscription Options

  • Users can subscribe to updates via email

Individual Service Page

  • After clicking on one of the service pages it will redirect you to a page with analytics for that service

  • Key Features:

    • Service Status: Displays the current operational status of PassKit services, indicating whether systems are up, down, or experiencing issues.

    • Uptime Metrics: Shows uptime statistics over various periods (last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, and 90 days), helping users assess service reliability.

    • Response Time Data: Provides average, maximum, and minimum response times over the past 90 days, offering insights into system performance.

    • Recent Events: Lists recent incidents or maintenance events, allowing users to review any issues that have occurred.
