Introduction
For businesses and agencies prioritizing seamless brand consistency, PassKit offers the ability to white-label your pass distribution links and the Pass URLs themselves. This advanced branding feature allows you to present a fully branded experience to your customers, from the moment they access their digital pass to when they view its content.
What is a Custom Pass Domain?
By default, PassKit's pass distribution links (also known as PassKit Data Collection Pages or Enrollment Forms) and the final Pass Landing Pages (Pass URLs) use a standard PassKit domain (e.g., https://pub1.pskt.io/t/u92prn
or https://pub1.pskt.io/4ldJvpsIVqcsMdGoY887ZO
).
With a Custom Pass Domain, you can change these links to reflect your own brand's domain. For example:
Pass Distribution Link: From
https://pub1.pskt.io/t/u92prn
tohttps://yourdomain.com/t/u92prn
Pass URL: From
https://pub1.pskt.io/4ldJvpsIVqcsMdGoY887ZO
tohttps://yourdomain.com/4ldJvpsIVqcsMdGoY887ZO
This feature ensures that every touchpoint a customer has with your digital pass journey reinforces your brand, building trust and recognition.

How to Enable White-Labeling for Your Domain
Enabling a custom pass domain is a specialized setup process that requires assistance from PassKit support to ensure proper configuration.
Here's a high-level overview of the steps involved:
Select Your Desired Domain/Subdomain: You'll choose the specific domain or subdomain you wish to use for your PassKit links (e.g.,
passes.yourcompany.com
orwallet.yourbrand.co
).PassKit Provides DNS Records: Our team will provide you with specific DNS records (typically a CNAME record and a TXT record) that are necessary for the setup.
Configure DNS Records: You (or your IT team) will then add these records to your domain's DNS settings. The CNAME record points to PassKit's distribution infrastructure, and the TXT record allows PassKit to generate a secure TLS (SSL) certificate for your custom domain.
Once these records are correctly configured and verified, your pass distribution links and pass URLs will seamlessly transition to use your custom, white-labeled domain.
Scope of White-Labeling with Custom Pass Domains
It's important to understand what this service specifically white-labels:
End Customer-Facing Pages: This service primarily white-labels the links and pages that your end-customers interact with directly, such as the initial pass distribution link and the landing page where the pass is presented.
Secure Connection: Your custom domain will be fully secured with a TLS (SSL) certificate, ensuring data integrity and user trust.
What is NOT included:
PassKit Portal: The PassKit web portal (your account dashboard where you design and manage passes) remains PassKit-branded.
PassKit Pass Designer: The interface for designing your passes within the portal is not white-labeled.
Welcome/Delivery Email Domain: White-labeling the sending domain for PassKit-generated welcome or delivery emails is a separate service with its own considerations. Please refer to our article on White-Labeling Welcome/Delivery Email Domains for more details.
Removal of "Powered by PassKit" from Data Collection Pages: While the URL can be white-labeled, the removal of the "Powered by PassKit" attribution from data collection pages or pass landing pages is a separate feature. Please see our article on Removing PassKit Branding from Data Collection Pages for more information.
