Introduction
When you issue a pass, you can send a welcome email to the pass owner including a link to their pass. We provide a basic template, but you can customise the text, add images and change colours and fonts suit your needs.
The Welcome Email (Pass Distribution by Email) is included in your PassKit subscription. There are no additional fees for using the PassKit Welcome Email feature.
What's in the Welcome Email?
The Welcome Email is designed to provide a seamless user experience. It includes:
A fully customisable email including images, colours and fonts, that tells the recipient about the digital pass.
A prominent button that directly links to the unique URL of their digital pass.
Welcome Email customisation is enabled for Production Accounts only.

The Pros
Here are a few of the benefits of using the PassKit Welcome Email:
Boost Engagement: Encourage immediate activation and usage of digital passes by delivering them directly to the recipient's inbox.
Enhance User Experience: Provide a seamless and personalized onboarding experience, making it easy for users to access and utilize their digital passes.
Streamline Your Workflow: Simplify your operations with a natively integrated solution. No need for additional email platforms or complex setups.
The Cons
Here are some reasons why you might not want to use the PassKit Welcome Email:
Redundancy: If you already have a robust email marketing strategy in place, sending a separate Welcome Email might be unnecessary.
Email Fatigue: Overloading your recipients with too many emails may lead to email fatigue and decreased engagement.
Brand Consistency: The PassKit Welcome Email template might not align perfectly with your brand's messaging and design aesthetic.
Data Privacy Concerns: If you have concerns about collecting and storing recipient email addresses, you might prefer to avoid using the Welcome Email feature.
The Welcome Email is optional
You do not need to distribute passes using the PassKit Welcome Email. If you already use email software, or want to send your passes using other channels (e.g. SMS) you can turn the Welcome Email off and connect your preferred applications to PassKit using the API or no-code automations like Make.com or Zapier.
